There is no doubt about it.  I have a new favourite cookbook.  Move over hummingbird bakery.  Stand aside Delia.  Joy The Baker is in town.  You can find her book here and, if you haven’t already, check out her blog.

I have poured over the recipes on Joy’s blog for a few years now, always loving her simple ideas and delicious recipes.  Everything she makes always seems to fit with just what I am craving that week and her recipes have always produced great results for me.  So needless to say when Joy released her cookbook I just had to order one!  And boy am I glad I did.  100 recipes of pure gorgeousness with cute little stories and introductions just like on her blog!

That Dirty Whore Always Wants S’more

This week Shelly over at Cookies and Cups has declared it S’mores week and I am so on board!

There might be a small glitch in my master plan at creating a kick ass s’more though.

I have never eaten a s’more.  This means I have no clue what they taste like.

But it can’t be that hard can it?

And so i did what is natural when faced with a challenge – I Googled it!  This was how helpful Google was:

Simple Cakes for a Simple Girl

This Past week has been full of work and fun.

On friday I made cookie pops and salted caramel cupcakes (unfortunately they were devoured before I could snap a photo)  I will try and get some stuff up soon though.

I have been visiting other blogs and you should check out this one and this one (where I got the idea for cookie pops) and this one (who literally makes me laugh out loud) and dont forget to stop by here (which has loads of awesome stuff)

I have also been working my butt off with deadlines approaching an unfortunately this is why I haven’t been posting much recently!

But here is a recipe that has been passed down to me from my grandma which is really simple and make excellent plain sponge [for the pdf recipe click HERE]

It can be used for victoria sponge, vanilla cupcakes, the base for any other flavour or as a simple tray bake.
